I’m continually amazed to see how the wedding industry has changed since I got started in the business just 7 years ago. When I got married, 6 years ago, Pocket Fold Invitations were just taking center stage and the options were few and far between, the dress I had envisioned was no where to be found, I pulled ideas out of bridal magazines and put them in my trusty binder and it felt like everything was mass-produced.
If I was planning my wedding today the groom would stay the same and pretty much everything else would be completely different! With Pinterest and Etsy wedding planning has taken on an entirely new meaning and great ideas are at every turn! While I do not get another go at my wedding I’m happy to report my sister is engaged and I get to live vicariously through her! I’ve set up a pinterset board where I gather ideas for her and I recently ventured down to Disney World with my mother, sister and the groom-to-be to plan the nuptials.
The planning session started at Franck’s Bridal Studio near the Wedding Pavilion. We met with the coordinator and tackled the day of timeline so we would know where everyone would be and when. While we waited for the floral consultant we headed over to look at the Wedding Pavilion, where Lauren and Kevin will be having there ceremony, and then sampled all of the delicious cake, filling and icing options! This was probably my favorite part! Yum! Once the crucial cake decisions had been made it was onto flower and centerpiece talk!
After the formalities were taken care of we headed down to Disney’s Boardwalk where we toured the Atlantic Dance Hall a.k.a. where the reception will be taking place. It is designed to be a retro dance hall and it should set the tone for a fun and casual reception with lots of dancing! It’ll be quite the shin-dig!
The last part of the day was spent at the food tasting – and boy was that food delicious! We’ve worked up quite the menu and I think everyone will be very pleased on the big day. I started taking pictures of all the food we were enjoying – but…I got too excited and forgot to take pictures towards the end – oops, that explains the empty plate pictures
Our last day in Disney consisted of hitting up the Magic Kingdom, The Studios and eating our way around EPCOT during the food and wine festival! Amongst all of the fun we did take a mid-day break to head back to the Boardwalk to watch Lauren & Kevin have their Engagement Pictures taken. While I left most of the picture taking up to the photographers I did manage to sneak in a few pictures via instagram – They look so happy together!
Below are the Sneak Peaks from the photographers! I can’t wait to see all of the pictures taken by David & Vicki Ardnt Photography when they are ready!
